Grand Rapids has no shortage of entertainment on any given weekend. From the massive shows at the Intersection, 20 Monroe Live, and Van Andel Arena, to the more intimate settings at Pyramid Scheme, Billy's, Founder's, and more... This city is ALWAYS packed with phenomenal music.
Prime Social Group hosed their first Breakaway Festival Grand Rapids last summer at Belknap park which was a smashing hit. Last year featured headliners RL Grime, Travis Scott, Zedd, and more so you KNOW that when they decided to bring it back for a second year, they had to do it big.
This year they are set to bring in some of my favorite musical taste-makers August 24-25 including Odesza, Khalid, Jaden Smith, Flosstradamus, Borgeous, and Kayzo for their main headlining acts.
My personal favorite part about Breakaway is that they continue to put a huge spotlight on the local talent in each city.
This year's local main stage support includes some of the top locals in the Grand Rapids "EDM" scene including Super Future, COOKN, and Flats Stanlie.
More artists are expected to be announced closer to the date including a full silent disco lineup.
