Snoop Dogg is showing love to skier Lindsey Vonn after she suffered a serious injury just days before the Olympics began.
The American skier from Minnesota recently announced that she completely ruptured her ACL when she crashed during her downhill race last Friday. At the time of her injury, she told the press that she had to withdraw from her super-G race and needed as much time as possible to recover for the Winter Games. However, on Tuesday, February 3, Vonn reversed course and committed to competing in her upcoming race this weekend.
"I'm gonna do it," Vonn said.
Vonn competed in a downhill race last Friday and hit an awkward landing due to low visibility issues on the track. According to Bleacher Report, she was the third competitor to face issues during the race that day. Vonn finished the race, but was spotted limping and received medical treatment on the course before she was airlifted to get more assistance. Despite her injuries, Vonn explained that she went skiing earlier this week and was able to do it with her brace on. Her announcement impressed the masses, including Snoop Dogg, who sent her a very heartwarming message during his time in Italy.
"Lindsey, let me say this to you, baby girl," Snoop said into the camera. "You are a true champion. This is what it's all about. Standing up for something and fighting for what you believe in. It's so much inspiration and motivation that somebody is going to get from this. Somebody is going to be inspired. Somebody is going to become the next great. So thank you Lindsey for being you."
