Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre have released another banger ahead of their long-awaited album.
On Thursday, November 21, the West Coast duo shared their new single "Outta Da Blue" featuring Alus. Snoop and Dre go back-and-forth on the infectious instrumental, which contains a sample of Schoolly D's 1986 hit "Saturday Night." Singer/songwriter Alus holds down the chorus by recreating M.I.A.'s infamous hook from "Paper Planes." Snoop and Dre's new hit is the latest track to come from their highly anticipated album Missionary. Prior to dropping their new single, the duo previewed some songs from the album at ComplexCon and debuted the lead single "Gorgeous" with JhenƩ Aiko.
Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre have been preparing to drop Missionary for the past few years. The project is the first LP Dre has fully produced for Snoop since they last teamed up for Doggystyle in 1993. It was originally scheduled to drop in honor of the 30th anniversary of Snoop's debut album. After they pushed back the release date several times, the Death Row Records alum finally confirmed their plans to debut the album in October. Missionary will arrive on December 13.
"Outta Da Blue" dropped hours before Ice Cube released his latest album Man Down and Finesse2tymes shared his new LP Art of War. In addition to those two projects, Boldy James, Killer Mike, Nicki Minaj, Lola Brooke, Sheff G and more also delivered new music that appears on iHeartRadio's Rap Rising playlist.
