A school bus driver had to be revived with the narcotic overdose drug Narcan after suffering a drug overdose while behind the wheel on Wednesday (February 20) afternoon. There were eleven students on board when the bus crashed into a tree on a snow-slicked street in Newark, New Jersey. Authorities said that none of the children, who were special needs students between the ages of 5 and 13, were hurt in the crash.

A bystander told WABC that he witnessed the accident and rushed to the aid of the bus driver, identified as 57-year-old Lisa Byrd.

"I jumped on the bus and put it in park," Sherod Jones said. "They say twelve kids on that bus, but the lady, she was really my main concern."

Byrd was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Authorities said they found heroin paraphernalia on her and that she is facing multiple charges.
