"When you think about A$AP I think, from the music point, you think about, like, me and Rocky," he continued. "People who did the music and all of that. Of course, it was built off the backs of Bari and Yams and all of that, but like we're the faces. So I feel like if we not making no music and putting no new timestamps then there's no A$AP."

The A$AP Mob was formed by Steven Rodriguez a.k.a A$AP Yams, A$AP Bari, A$AP Illz and A$AP Kham in 2006. Their group eventually expanded after A$AP Rocky, FERG, Playboi Carti, A$AP Twelvyy, A$AP Nast, A$AP Ant, A$AP Relli and others joined after 2011. Following A$AP Rocky's debut mixtape Live.Love.ASAP, the group released its debut project Lords Never Worry in 2012. The group was working on a debut album before Yams passed away in 2015. Since then, the Mob dropped two compilation albums, Cozy Tapes Vol. 1: Friends (2016) and Cozy Tapes Vol. 2: Too Cozy (2017).

As time went on, Rocky and FERG went on to establish solid solo careers. Meanwhile, drama plagued the group following Yams' death. Members like A$AP Snacks, A$AP Josh and Chynna also passed away between 2020-2021. A month after Josh died in 2021, A$AP Relli and A$AP Rocky reportedly got into a scuffle during a tense meeting in Los Angeles. In a lawsuit he filed almost a year later, Relli claimed Rocky fired a gun at him in the heat of their argument. Rocky was arrested and charged with the shooting but pleaded not guilty. He's scheduled to go to trial over the alleged incident later this month.

As if that drama wasn't enough, Illz recently claimed FERG was no longer a part of A$AP Mob. The "Work" rapper previously addressed his status with the group during his recent appearance on The Breakfast Club. Although he spoke to Illz and got him to retract his statement, FERG admitted the group wasn't as close as they used to be. Since none of the members are actively making music together, Ferg is focused on himself. He recently dropped his latest solo album DAROLD and is focused on his own brand.

"Right now its Ferg," he told Toure. "It's Ferg Apparel. Its the Ferg Empire. Darold is everything dealing with this individual right here."
