"Detroit Techno Week" 2017 Is Officially A Thing Leading Up to Movement, Thanks to the Mayor

As we're gearing up for Detroit's coveted Movement Music Festival 2017, the city and Mayor Mike Duggan have officially dubbed the next several days as "Detroit Techno Week!"

Since 2000, Movement has served as a signature event for the city of Detroit and a steady reminder that techno reigns supreme in the EDM/dance scene, making for one of the best music festivals the world has ever known.

In an official certificate of recognition, Mayor Duggan again honored the festival with a week-long acknowledgement, stating: "I encourage all to come out and celebrate the festivities, as it creates local and international awareness of Detroit's rising creative culture."

Soon, Detroit's Hart Plaza will be filled with crowds of dance music fans, an exquisite display of genres, and some of the biggest acts in the game including headliners Richie Hawtin, Testpilot (Deadmau5's techno project), Carl Cox, joined by Detroit's own Danny Brown, The Gaslamp Killer, Juicy J, Soulclap, Thundercat, Survive, and so many more.
