Finding that silver lining in the pandemic, this would be such an awesome idea for Grand Rapids! Legislation has been introduced to create "social zones" outside restaurants that would pretty much give or extend patio space so they can serve more customers! First, it'll help businesses hopefully recoup even more money after the COVID losses by allowing them to serve more people AND it would allow a space to be set up by a few restaurants so you could walk around with maybe a drink and support all kinds of local! I feel like I'm doing a bad job of explaining this so here ya go (but this is a sweet idea, right? Would you want to see this downtown?):
