The Higher Education Appropriations Subcommittee from the Michigan state Senate holds a hearing this afternoon in Grand Rapids.

The lawamkers meet at Grand Valley State University’s Pew Campus in downtown Grand Rapids to hear from the  Presidents of Grand Valley, Saginaw Valley State, Ferris State, Michigan Tech and the University of Michigan-Flint.

Their testimony begins at 1:30 p.m. in the Loosemore Auditorium, in the DeVos Center at 401 W. Fulton St.

The subcommittee chair is Senator Tonya Schuitmaker. Her staff tells WOOD Radio this is the third, and final, meeting involving several University Presidents outlining their programs and Senators consider budget requirements for next year.  A previous meeting, two weeks ago, was held at MSU.
