Two years worth of reconstructive surgery is now complete for a western Michigan girl mauled by a raccoon, doctors say.

Charlotte Ponce, 12, had her nose reconstructed, a new ear attached and her upper lip repaired, capping off two years of surgery from face damage incurred by a pet raccoon.

Dr. Kongkrit Chaiyasate gave the Spring Lake girl a surprise this week, finishing off a long stay at Beaumont Hospital near Detroit with a piercing in her new ear.
