Enrollment in the Healthy Michigan Plan has passed its yearly goal in just 14 weeks, Gov. Rick Snyder's office said Thursday.

"Reaching our first-year goal in only 14 weeks shows that we are well on track for improving the quality of life for our residents as Michigan’s comeback continues," Snyder said in a statement.

As of July 10, the health plan had 323,022 enrollees. The full-year goal was 322,000.

The plan extends health-care benefits to low-income residents. The enrollment period began April 1.
