Maryann Castorena, ex-girlfriend of 38-year-old murder victim Jose Hernandez is a suspect in his murder, but Castorena's attorney says his client "maintains her innocence".

Castorena was arrested three days after the body of Hernandez was found outside of his apartment in Park Township by Holland, according to reports by WOOD TV.

Authorities allege Castorena lied to them about where she was when her ex-boyfriend was killed, and she also may have lied about a vehicle which may have been at the scene of the crime.

Attorney Robert Alvarez said Castorena is not being charged with murder nor accessory to murber, but instead lying to a peace officer - which is not a capitol offense.

Castorena is being held in the Ottawa County Jail on $75,000 bond, which was reduced from $1 million after a second murder suspect was arrested.

The second suspect in the homicide is 19-year-old Anthony Delagarza. He was arrested last week and also charged with lying to a peace officer.

Delagarza is held at the Ottawa County Jail on $250,000 bond.

No one has been charged with murder in the death of Jose Hernandez.
