Holland City Hopes to Win Energy Rethink Contest

Posted April 28th, 2014 @ 4:29am

The city of Holland competes against 50 other communities around America, hoping to win $5 million to spend on energy efficiency programs.

The competition is the Georgetown University Energy Prize.

The Holland Sentinel says it challenges small- to medium-size towns to rethink energy use and increase efficiency.

Holland is into its third year of a 40-year Community Energy Plan to cut back on carbon and greenhouse gases.
