Forget This U.P. Roadside Park. Unless You Like Bears

Posted July 30th, 2014 @ 2:59pm by WOOD RADIO NEWS TEAM

The Michigan Department of Transportation has temporarily closed a park in the Upper Peninsula's Alger County until further notice.

The Deer Lake Roadside Park along M-28 is shut down because of problem bears in the area. Wildlife experts from the Department of Natural Resources will be working to trap and relocate black bears that have been raiding garbage at the park.

Officials say the park will reopen as soon as possible.
