It has been many years since the first Farm Aid concert.

September 22, 1985, in Champaign, Illinois, the first Farm Aid raised money for family farmers in the United States.

The first concert was at University of Illinois' Memorial Stadium in Champaign on September 25 before a crowd of 80,000 people.

Farm Aid is still around and is still raising money. The site has changed.

This year's Farm Aid is Sept. 13. Founding members Neil Young and Willie Nelson will meet up to play in Raleigh, N.C.

John Mellencamp, Dave Matthews, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Jamey Johnson, Delta Rae, Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real, Carlene Carter, Pegi Young & The Survivors, and Insects vs Robots are also playing. Tickets go on sale Aug. 1 at 10 a.m. ET.
