Nearly two dozen Detroit Police officers are facing suspension after it was learned they have outstanding warrants for their arrests.

Detroit Police Sgt. Michael Woody told the Detroit News a routine check of their driving records found the officers had warrants, mostly for parking violations.

Woody says none of the warrants stem from criminal offenses. The officers will be suspended with pay until they take care of their legal issues.

Woody says if officers don’t take care of their legal issues, they will be further disciplined.
